Who we are

Kain Fashion Incubator is a structured incubator programme for emerging fashion designers in Malaysia, operated by [REGISTERED ENTITY NAME] ([COMPANY REGISTRATION NUMBER]) of [REGISTERED ADDRESS], and supported by Think City. This policy explains what personal data we collect through kain.benamici.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

We handle personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia. If you have any question about this policy, write to us at benamicistudio@gmail.com.

What we collect

Newsletter sign-ups. When you join the mailing list from the homepage or the footer, we collect your email address and the date you signed up. Nothing else is required.

Programme applications. Applications for the cohort are collected through Google Forms, not through this website. That form asks for your name, your contact details, your label or brand if you have one, and a portfolio of your work. Because the form accepts file uploads, Google requires you to be signed in to a Google account; the form records that account's email address.

Technical data. Like any website, ours records standard server information when a page is requested: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time of the request. This is used for security and to keep the site running, not to build a profile of you.

How we use it

Newsletter data is used only to send you programme news, open-call dates, and showcase announcements. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

Application data is used to assess your application, to contact you about it, and to run the selection process. Applications are read by the selection panel and by programme staff. Shortlisted applicants are contacted directly; applicants who are not shortlisted are not contacted individually.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Who else handles your data

Running the site and the programme means a small number of service providers process data on our behalf. Hostinger hosts the website and its email delivery. Google processes application submissions through Google Forms and Google Drive, under its own privacy terms. Fonts and one animation library are loaded from Google Fonts and jsDelivr, which means your browser makes a request to those services and they receive your IP address as part of it.

Some of these providers operate servers outside Malaysia, so your data may be processed abroad. We only use providers that apply recognised safeguards to that transfer.

How long we keep it

Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Application materials for a cohort are kept for the duration of that selection process and for twelve months afterwards, so we can answer questions about a decision, and are then deleted. Server logs are kept for a short period only.

Your rights

Under the PDPA you may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to us using it. Write to benamicistudio@gmail.com and we will respond within 21 days.

Withdrawing consent while an application is in progress means we can no longer assess that application.

Cookies

This site does not run advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress and the site's caching layer may set functional cookies needed to serve pages correctly and to keep a logged-in session. If you submit a form, the services behind it may set their own cookies under their own policies.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to form submissions is limited to the people running the programme. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version is published on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes affecting applicants will also be announced on the News page.
